Why wouldn't I use my Email program (like Microsoft Outlook) to send mass Emails?

Futher, you can't track opens, clicks, delivered vs. failed, and tehre is not automated way for contacts to unsubscribe or change their preferences.

What's wrong with sending a large group Email using BCC?
